4-H Presentation Competition

It’s time to start working on your 2015 4-H presentation!  There are three age categories for 4-H presentations competition: 9-10, 11-13, and 14-18.  Cloverbud  participants, ages 5-8, are non-competition.  Each Cloverbud 4-H’er and 4-H’ers who win first place in their age category and age division will receive a $20 Wal-Mart gift card and be eligible to advance to the district competition to represent Haywood County in district competition during District Activity Day        Saturday, May 16.

Public speaking and demonstrations are a cornerstone program of the 4-H Youth Development Program.  4-H’ers can research a topic of interest and prepare a 5 to 10 minute presentation.  All participants must be age appropriate and reach the time limit: juniors 5 to 7 minutes and seniors 10 to 12 minutes to qualify.    Presentations should include posters, props, and a variety of visual aids that help them explain their topic to a panel of judges.  Youth will present their presentation at the Haywood County 4-H Annual Activity Night on Thursday, April 30.

If you would like help with your 4-H presentation, youth can receive one-on-one assistance, please just call the Extension Office at 456-3575 to schedule a time to meet.
