4-H Christmas
Tuesday, November 25 from 6pm to 8:30pm
Volunteer Leaders, youth leaders, and 4-Her’s will be recognized for their hard work and dedication at the Annual Awards Banquet. The Sew Cool 4-H club members and all 4-H’ers are invited to participate in the 4-H Fashion Revue and show off the garments they have constructed this year or wearable accessories they have crocheted or knitted. Three 4-H’ers: Grace Sawyer, Johanna Carpenter, and Ashlyn Clark along with club leader, Cris Ammons participated in the Make it With Wool Competition in Cabarrus County in September. Ashlyn Clark placed third in the teen division, Cris Ammons placed second, and Grace Sawyer and Johanna Carpenter received honorable mention. Please submit garments or wearable accessory by Friday, November 21 for judging and recognition at the awards night. All 4-H’ers participating in the fashion revue will receive $20 cloverbucks certificate to use at a 4-H event of their choice. Please call the Extension Center at 456-3575 to sign-up.
To celebrate this year in 4-H we will have a PowerPoint with all the pictures from program activities. Everyone who attends can get into the holiday spirit and is invited to sing Christmas carols. The Extension office will provide sliced ham, rolls, and sweet tea. Please bring your favorite potluck dish. Also this year for the awards banquet we will have a people’s choice award for desserts. If you would like to enter please bring 50 bite-sized servings to enter. The winner will receive a $25 gift card to the Chocolate Bear in Waynesville.
This year we will also be having a silent auction fundraiser. Several merchants, restaurants, and regional theaters have donated items and it's the perfect time to buy auction items for Christmas gifts. This will be a fun night for the whole family!
