4-H Spring Fling

Monday, May 20 from 5pm to 8:30pm at Extension Center

All 4-Hers and 4-H families are invited to attend.  4-H will have Teen Leadership Council Meeting to set up dates for the environmental video, You Be the Chef workshop on cake decorating, and an electric high volt demonstration by Haywood Electric Membership Cooperative, have lawn games set-up, and have a softball game.  4-H will provide hotdogs, buns, condiments, and sweet tea.  Please bring a side of your choice.  You Be the Chef workshop will be cake decorating were each youth will learn how to use different icing tips to create a variety of effects on their cupcake.  Please RSVP for a food count by calling the Extension Office by May 15 at 456-3575.

Those 4-Her’s advancing from the county level presentation and public speaking contest are able to compete on the district level at District Activity Day.  The top winners in each category can compete at the state level in Raleigh, NC during State 4-H Congress.  State winners in sponsored categories receive cash awards.   In specific categories, the state-winning seniors may go on to compete at the national level.  All county presentation presenters were county winners this year and are invited to compete at the district level and represent Haywood County.  4-Hers are chosen from each age division and category at county competition at County Activity Night each year.
