4-H County Activity Night at Extension Center - Postponed

Thursday, April 18, presentations from 4pm to 5:30pm, Activity Night at 6pm
Open to all youth ages 5 to 19 years old.  The annual Spring Activity Night is our social event of the season and includes the talent show, fashion review, and county level presentations.  A night of fun and competition for Haywood County 4-H, the Awards Night will be April 18 at 6pm at the Extension Center. Presentations begin at 4pm at the Extension Center.  All 4-Hers and 4-H families are invited to join us for 4-H Best in the West, western themed Activity Night!  Please bring your cowboy boots and hats for a great evening of fun!  Extension will provide fried chicken, paper goods, and sweet tea please bring your favorite covered dish for our pot luck dinner. 

West District Teen Retreat at Camp Swannanoa

Haywood County 4-Her’s will have a fun weekend at Camp Swannanoa in Asheville making new friends from across the district, earning 4-H  Ambassador credits, taking part in district officer elections, and participating in fun and informative workshops.  The cost of attending Teen Retreat is $35 for early registration due by Wednesday, February 6.  If you register after the early deadline, registration will increase to $40.  4-H Teen Leadership Council members will receive a $40 partial scholarship in addition to their portion above to cover the full cost of registration.  Please call the Extension Center at 456-3575 for more information. 

4-H School Enrichment Embryology Teacher Training

Haywood County 4-H is excited to offer 4-H School Enrichment Embryology curriculum to 2nd Grade classes in Haywood County during the Spring 2012 semester.  Two teacher training sessions will be offered: one before Spring break on Monday, February 18, and one session after Spring break on Monday, April15.  The 4-H Embryology curriculum is free to teachers, counts as continuing education units, and was designed by North Carolina State University to match the 2nd Grade Life Sciences standard course of study.  The 4-H school enrichment programs are offered at no-cost to teachers.  If any 4-Hers or volunteers would like to help with the 2nd Grade Embryology teacher trainings please call the Extension Center at 456-3575.
