Farm to Fork Day Camp

Tuesday, July 31 through Thursday, August 2 from 9am to 4pm
Cost $35
Extension Center Drop-off and Pick-up
Youth ages 6 to 12 are invited to participate in Haywood Extension 4-H Farm to Fork Day Camp, sponsored by Farm Bureau.  The theme for this year’s Farm to Fork Day Camp is “Heritage Farming in Appalachia.” The camp will be held July 31 to August 2 from 9am to 3pm at the Extension Center.
The mountains that we call home are rich in the farming heritage of our ancestors and modern day neighbors.  Day campers will complete hands-on activities to learn about their food and explore local farms in the area, including the historical farm on the Great Smoky Mountain Parkway in Cherokee.  Youth will experience activities involving making homemade ice cream, Appalachian storytelling, and traditional Appalachian crafts.
4-Hers 13 to 18 are invited to participate as youth leaders to gain leadership skills and lead activities during the camp.
The cost for the Farm to Fork Day Camp is $35; which includes all materials and snacks.  4-Her’s will need to bring a bag lunch, water bottle, and sunscreen each day.  To register call the Extension Center at 456-3575.
