2009 Winter Sewing Class

It’s that time of year again to start our 2009 Haywood County Winter Sewing Classes. These are sewing classes that are planed to teach youth the basic skills needed to make a simple garment. These classes are planned to be a learning experience and fun.

Youth will learn to measure themselves to determine their pattern size, choose the appropriate pattern and fabric and how to position pattern on their fabric. Youth will also learn how to operate and care for a sewing machine. Youth will make a simple garment and display their work at the 2009 Fashion Revue to complete this program.

Classes will be on Thursdays & Fridays for 5 weeks starting January 15th. Classes will be held at 3:30 pm & 5:30 pm. These times are subject to registration and we reserve the right to combine the two classes if necessary. The cost to participate is $15.00 if you bring your own fabric and $25.00 to receive donated fabric for the class. You must be in at least the first grade to sign up.

Call the extension office at 456-3575 to register by December 17th.
